The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. It falls on the fifteenth day of August in lunar calendar. In 2006, it is listed by the Government of the People's Republic of China as an "intangible cultural heritage", and in 2008, it was made a Chinese public holiday.
Actually, this festival is strongly associated with the legend of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess of Immortality. She accidentally swallowed panacea of his husband, Houyi, and flied out of the window into the sky, and never came back to the Earth since. Her husband missed her so much and made lots of cakes for her. Therefore, nowadays, people worship Chang’e on this festival with such sacrifice as mooncakes and all kinds of fruits. What a romantic festival!
中秋節(jié)，農歷八月十五，是中國最重要的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日之一。2006年，中華人民共和國政府將其列入非物質文化遺產并在2008年定為公共假日。
實際上，中秋節(jié)與一個神話故事中的主人公月神嫦娥有很大的關系，她誤食了其丈夫的靈藥，最后飛入月宮，再也無法回到地球。他的丈夫后羿非常想念她，經(jīng)常做餅給她。因此，現(xiàn)在人們在這一天會用月餅和水果供奉嫦娥，以繼承表達后羿對她的思念之情。中秋節(jié)是一個多么浪漫的節(jié)日啊。
